In less than a week, supermarket, foodservice and produce industry professionals from across the North America will gather in Chicago for the annual United Fresh Produce Show. IFCO is proud to be a longtime member and ongoing sponsor of United Fresh, and we’d like to share our top recommendations for attendees to make the most out of this year’s expo.

Monday, June 20

United Fresh Opening Party
Museum of Contemporary Art

6:00 – 7:30 pm
A unique opportunity to network with industry colleagues while enjoying refreshments in one of the world’s largest contemporary art venues. As a sponsor of this event, we might be somewhat partial, but we can’t think of a better place to kick off an innovative and creative week.

Tuesday, June 21

Opening Breakfast General Session – Craig Boyan, H-E-B President and COO
8:00 am – 9:45 am
Vista Ballroom, McCormick Place
No matter where your business sits on the fresh supply chain, you won’t want to miss this general session. President and COO of H-E-B Craig Boyan will offer his insights about the challenges and opportunities facing today’s supermarkets.

Wednesday, June 22

Negotiation Strategies to Improve Your Sales Performance
9:00 am – 10:00 am
McCormick Place
The education “power hour” on Wednesday morning is packed with interesting sessions, and both retail and grower side sales professionals should take advantage of this educational opportunity from expert sales trainer Jan Kessinger. Learn what tactics to avoid, what to embrace and how to walk away with a win-win outcome.

Don’t forget to review the Schedule-at-a-Glance for additional details on the expo.

In addition to these must-attend events, here are some recommendations from a Chi-town local connected to our IFCO family! She recommends:

Chicago’s First Lady Cruises – Architecture Boat Tour

If you have some spare time and the weather is nice, we’d recommend an architecture boat tour. This is consistently recognized by locals as a great way to see the city.

Other Dining Recommendations:

Of course, don’t forget Eataly Chicago, Mario Batali’s Italian marketplace with restaurants, take-away counters, and a cooking school.
